Lots of basketball

VCU's season is over - 40 games played but one short of the national championship game.
Forty games is a lot of college basketball.
But how about the referees? How many games do they do in a season?
When I worked in West Virginia, Mike Eades was making his way up the referee ladder. This website says he worked 96 games this season, including Wednesday's final of the tournament. I can't imagine watching that many games on TV a season, let alone traveling around the nation to work that many.
