Climategate carol

Somehow I forgot to post this last year.
How did we have Christmas without this parody?
Al Gore speaks, no one's listening
In the lane, lights are glistening
Oh what a sight
With houses really bright
Seeing all the Christmas lights are on

 Gone away is good science
Here to stay, blind allegiance
We're singing our song
Yet lights come on
Look how all the Christmas lights are on

On computers we can cook some data
then pretend that it is warmer now
They'll ask: Are you sure?
We'll say: You know, man
And here's the hockey stick that we have found

 Later on, we'll conspire,
With warnings, that are dire
Make the people afraid
We'll pass cap and trade
No more seeing Christmas lights turned on

On computers we can cook some data
And say skeptics are just circus clowns
We'll have lots of fun with our bad data
Until our own emails knock us down.

When we speak, ain't it thrilling
People's hearts, they are chilling
We'll frolic and play, the socialist way,
No more seeing Christmas lights turned on

Climategate Carol

Our neighborhood held a contest over the weekend to see who had the best light display.
The Green New Deal crew won't be pleased.
Al Gore speaks, no one's listening

With houses really bright
Seeing all the Christmas lights are on

 Gone away is good science

While Greta and her environmentalist friends gather in Spain, American families are turning on their Christmas lights to celebrate the season.
Greta and her friends cry.

Time for my Christmas classic, to the tune of Winter Wonderland.
Established in 2009 and still going strong.

The Climategate carol

Time to bring out my favorite environmental take on a Christmas song.

Here to stay, blind allegiance
We're singing our song

O Canada, please send your oil to me

Did President Obama cost us at the pumps with the Keystone Pipeline stall?
Yes.
How much?
Much more than we know.
Time for good Americans to beg Canada to ignore him.
We like their national anthem, and it gives a jumping off point for this parody.

O Canada!
We really need your oil!
Ignore the bum and all his silly commands
With empty tanks we yearn for you
The True North we love thee
From Saskatchewan
O Canada, please send your oil to me
Please keep our cars, running smooth and free
O Canada, please send your oil to me
O Canada, please send your oil to me

Newt Scootin' Boogie

The networks call the South Carolina primary for Newt Gingrich as the polls close?
They'll be dancing at his headquarters, and I've got a new song for them.

Down in Carolina I think we got a sign
This primary fight will go on for some time
The battle continues as we head on to Florida
Romney led early but it looks like he choked
It's still a contest folks, thanks to the Newt scootin' boogie

He did a good job debating John King
Looks like he won't back down from anything
He fired up the base that wants Obama gone
Upstate, Lower State, all over the place
He kept making his case for the Newt scootin' boogie

Yeah, here we go, battle's on, let's go Newt scootin'
Oh, Bain Cap, healthcare facts, attacks right on the money
He was down, turned it around, dancin' the Newt scootin' boogie

Voters ask me, say son what'll it be
I want a candidate I think will listen to me
He's gotta love the country, be proud of the Fourth of July
D.C. has outlaws, cheaters, crooks and fakes. We want to see them quake
We're doing the Newt scootin' boogie

Yeah, here we go, battle's on, let's go Newt scootin'
Oh, Bain Cap, healthcare facts, attacks right on the money
He was down, turned it around, dancin' the Newt scootin' boogie

C'mon Marianne

The interview with Newt Gingrich's second wife brought to mind this song, and produced this parody.

Whoa-ho-ho here I am on the stage again
I think I have a chance to be Mr. Right
Now I understand, an interview's your plan, c'mon Marianne

No matter the media say, it didn't happen that way
They want to hear you speak just to knock me down
Now you understand, a hit's their plan

C'mon Marianne, c'mon Marianne
C'mon Marianne, can't you please understand?
No Marianne, Marianne, Marianne, Marianne

Well now the big media are all full of it
All the bitterness saving Obama's rear.
Now I speak my piece, leave John King for dead

C'mon Marianne, c'mon Marianne
C'mon Marianne, I know that you understand
My Marianne
C'mon Marianne, c'mon Marianne
Marianne, Marianne, Marianne, Marianne

Marianne
Marianne
Marianne

Pass the bill song

President Obama keeps getting crowds to chant "Pass the bill."
He needs a song - a classic song
How about Fats Domino's "Blueberry Hill?"

I'll find my thrill
when you pass my bill
Please pass my bill
I need you to

Economy stood still
It's why I need a bill
It'll linger until
my term is through.

The word on the street is
it's stimulus two
All of the vows we made
We just go repeat

We're far apart
I'll chant more still
It's Democrat swill
Just pass my bill

Jobs plan in September

President Obama plans to wait until September - September - to unveil his jobs plan.
Doesn't he know what happens to summer loves who must wait for September? Here's my latest song parody, based on "See you in September."

My polls are falling, it's such a fright
I don't want to hear this Election Night
"Bye-bye, so long, farewell
Bye-bye, so long"

Jobs plan in September
I'll tell you, when the summer's through
Here we are (bye money, goodbye)
Watching the debt keep on soaring (bye money, goodbye)
My stimulus plan (bye money, goodbye)
Won't make it go away (bye money, goodbye)
We had a good time, but remember
There's a danger, I call Republicans
Will you hear me in September
or lose you, to the Tea Party?

(what in the world do you really want?)
(will you fall for my next excuse?)

Bye money, goodbye
Bye money, goodbye
Bye money, goodbye (bye-bye, so long, farewell)
We had a good time, but remember
There's a danger, I call Republicans
Will you hear me in September
Or lose you, to the Tea Party?

My polls are falling, it's such a fright
Will you be there on Election Night?
Jobs plan in September
Will you listen in September?
I'll tell you my plan, in September

Here's a video of the original.

Sarah Palin's coming to town

Sarah Palin is making plans to visit Iowa soon.
Will the Other McCain be able to hang around until then?
Sure it's summer, but I've been inspired by a Christmas song - Santa Claus is coming to town - for this parody.

You better watch out
as liberals cry
Here comes a force
They cannot deny
Sarah Palin's coming to town
She's riding her bus
she's riding it twice
she gonna show you the Tea Party's nice
Sarah Palin's coming to town
She knows what you've been spending
She sees the piles of pork
She knows that debt is bad, not good
so let's chant "Drill, baby, drill."
O! You better watch out
as liberals cry
Here comes a force
They cannot deny
Sarah Palin's coming to town
Sarah Palin's coming to town

Start a blog - updated

Time to revisit and update one of my favorite song parodies - inspired by Brad Paisley's "Start a Band."

Yes I was a straight-lace, straight A student
teacher's pet who talked policy
I loved to watch them throwing a football
But let Reynolds get the law degree
So I sat and watched Obama sadly
Want to talk some sense into his thick head
And the best advice that I ever got
was from the Speedo blogger of Washington

Just get a computer and learn how to type
Cut up some pols, make up a cool name
When Congress does stuff that you don't understand
Make a few good buddies, start a blog
Start a blog, Start a blog

And all those girls that were too cool to talk to,
They’ll be waiting to make Rule 5 Sunday
You'll get an op-ed in a big time paper
Maybe buy your momma a used Hyundai

Just get a computer and learn how to type
Cut up your foes, register your name
When Obama does stuff that you don't understand
Find a few good buddies, start a blog
Start a blog,
Forget all about money, buy a fan
Learn the rules and ramble on, man
Never leave your house again

(typing solo)

Just get a computer and learn how to type
Throw out your thoughts, make up a cool name
With a little bit of luck your Sitemeter will fly
Find a few good buddies, start a blog
No need to worry, start a blog
Call up some buddies man, start a blog

Here's the video inspiration.

A new union to join

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
Unions are having all the fun, hanging out in Wisconsin and trying to get their way - instead of working.
GrandpaJohn notes his union history, and it reminded me of an old idea - why not a union of conservative bloggers?
I've got a name - Union of Political Commenters Having Unique Conservative Knowledge (UPCHUCK).
I've got a slogan - UPCHUCK. You can't keep us down.
And I've reworked this song from the past for our campaign.

Look for the union label
When you are reading a comment or blog
Remember somewhere, we’re in pajamas
Not the Bahamas, like those rich guys
When we read those earmarks, we start complaining
We hate to think that we’re paying for this
So always look for the union label
It’s says we’re writing
For a better U.S.A.

Goons live here

Teachers and unions battling the Wisconsin legislature.
Pushing and shoving conservatives in D.C.
Time to bring back my parody of Andy Williams' "Moon River" in (dis)honor of all the labor goons in the news.
Goons live here, get into your face
We're going to take your base away
Oh, vote taker, you deal breaker
Whatever you're thinkin', better go our way

Last chance, to get our bill passed
Opposition we don't want to see
It'll be worse than status quo, then watch costs explode
Don't mess with me my friend, goons live here, you'll see

(Goons live here, getting in your face)
(We're going to take your base away)
Oh, we'll shake ya, you deal breaker
Whatever you're thinkin', we'll make you pay

Last chance, to get our bill passed
Opposition we don't want to see
It'll be worse than status quo, then watch costs explode
Don't mess with me my friend, goons live here, you'll see

Farewell, lame ducks

The Democratic House majority is limping out of town. Time to reach back into the archives for this song parody of the Beach Boys' "Fun, fun, fun."
Only a few more weeks and Nancy Pelosi and friends will be "Done, done, done."

Well they took the voters' cash
And pushed the bloated stimulus bill now
Seems they forgot all about the deficit
Like they said on the campaign trail
Despite tea party protests
keep spending just as fast as they can now

(Chorus:)
And they'll be done, done, done
when the voters take their power away
(done, done, done when the voters take their power away)

Well, the folks can't stand them
'cause they spend like a drunken sailor
(you waste our money now, waste our money)
Sure Republicans spent big, but they couldn't match your pace now
(you waste our money now, waste our money)
A lotta folks try to stop them
But they're ignored when they visit your place now
(ignore us at your place, ignoring our pleas)

(Chorus:)
And they'll be done, done, done
when the voters take their power away
(done, done, done when the voters take their power away)

Well we knew all along
That the voters would get wise to you now
(the voters are wise now, you know they are wise)
And since they hate your policies
You've been thinking that your run is all through now
(the voters are wise now, you know they are wise)
But you can work along with us
'cause we gotta a lot of things to do now
(the voters are wise now, you know they are wise)

Or else you're done, done, done when the voters take your power away
(done, done, done when the voters take your power away)
done, done, done when the voters take your power away
(done, done, done when the voters take your power away)

done, done, done when the voters take your power away
done, done, done when the voters take your power away
done, done, done when the voters take your power away
done, done, done when the voters take your power away
done, done, done when the voters take your power away
done, done, done when the voters take your power away
done, done, done when the voters take your power away
done, done, done when the voters take your power away

More time for "Sourland"

Looks like later tonight, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will have more time to devote to their country music duo Sourland. From April 2009, here's my first parody for the duo - "All I want to do is Tax you."

Apologies to Sugarland - Jennifer and Khristian – and their fans.

I don’t want to listen baby, turn off all the phones
I don’t see those tea party people or want to turn my fax on
I’ve got ways to spend on my to-do list anyway
Hide behind this door and waste away money
Taxpayers think we’re lazy when we drive them crazy

All I want do wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo woo
All I want do wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo woo is tax you

I’ve spend my whole life winning votes to climb the ladder
Look at me, look at me, I’m the only thing that matters
Come a little closer Reid, we’ll pass bills without dissent
Hang a sign on Capitol Hill please do not disturb
Taxpayers think we’re lazy when we drive them crazy

All I want do wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo woo
All I want do wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo woo is tax you
Pass me a bill, full of that pork
I don’t want to cut this
All I want do wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo woo
All I want do wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo wo woo is tax you
All I really want to do
All I really can do
All I really want to do is tax you, tax you, tax you

Go a lot higher baby, we can spend without remorse
Hang up on those complainers, please do not, please do not, please do not disturb
When I sit down in my office, all I really want to do
When I fly back, when I fly back to Frisco baby, all I really want to do..

For you Sugarland fans, here's the original performance

Almost president, Sarah Palin

In honor of Sarah Palin's trip to suburban Poca Saturday, a take on one of West Virginia's favorite songs. Apologies to John Denver.

Almost President, Sarah Palin
From the mountains to the Kanawha River
Voters think here, hate the deficit,
read the Constitution, watch the Democrats flee

Tea Party, on the road
to the place, we belong
big White House, beat Obama
Tea Party, on the road

All the voters gather 'round her
No finer lady, strange still to blue voters
Dark and dusty, liberal charges fly
She offers Reagan's sunshine, makes Pelosi cry

Tea Party, on the road
to the place we belong
big White House, beat Obama
Tea Party, on the road

We hear her voice, from the podium she calls us
Internet reminds me the Tea Party's here to stay
Listening to her talk I just can't wait to go cast my vote on Tuesday, Tuesday

Tea Party, on the road
to the place we belong
big White House, beat Obama
Tea Party, on the road
Win the vote, now Tea Party
Win the vote, now Tea Party

And a video of the inspiration
