How do you think the Obama campaign felt Wednesday, watching all the people going to Chick-fil-A?
They're doomed.
They are points when you can feel the momentum shift.
In 1996, I knew Clinton had a great chance at re-election during the Olympic opening ceremonies. Most people don't follow politics, but looking good in a major event kept momentum on his side.
In 2008, Obama had the momentum and the crowds at his Berlin speech showed his strength.
Wednesday's Chick-fil-A shows his weakness. His policies and reporters have been pushing one way, and instead of following along, the people pushed back Wednesday.
The crowds at Chick-fil-A are a big deal.
Any counter event will pale in comparison.
