Is greed an amount or an attitude?
Some say the Wisconsin teachers aren't being greedy because they don't make lots of money, like the Koch Brothers.
I'm reminded of a part of C.S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters - the advice of an old tempter to his younger protege who is trying to keep an Englishman from growing in his relationship with God.
The Englishman's mother is a "all I want" person.
She doesn't want much. Just a wee bit of toast and tea, weak but not too weak.
Small amounts. Nothing greedy there.
But when someone presents her with the request, it's never quite right. The toast is too big or too small, not toasted correctly, and please take it back and bring it right.
You can be greedy when you're getting small amounts. When you don't see the problems your "small" requests are creating for the rest of the world.
