Instapundit links an interesting study about the transfer of cells between the mother and baby in utero.
There’s also tantalizing evidence that fetal cells may offer the mother increased resistance to certain diseases, thanks to the presence of the father’s immune system genes.
That baby can be a bundle of joy at birth and for years after.
