Weekend watchdog

It's a few weeks until the NHL season starts.
But the best of the world have plenty to play for this weekend.
The World Cup of Hockey enters its elimination round Saturday with the matchup between Canada and Russia on ESPN2 Saturday at 7 p.m. Team Europe meets Sweden Sunday at 1 p.m., with the winners meeting in a best-of-three series starting Tuesday.
The United States team gets a few days of rest after losing in the group round.
Baseball's postseason run continues, with the Nationals visiting the Pirates on MASN while the Orioles host the Diamondbacks on MASN2.
The NL Central champion Cubs host the Cardinals Friday afternoon on ESPN, Saturday on Fox and Sunday night on ESPN. ESPN2 brings Yankees-Blue Jays Friday at 7 p.m. The Tigers take on the Royals on Fox Saturday at 1 p.m. and TBS has the Yankees and Jays Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Ravens meet the Jaguars Sunday at 1 p.m. on CBS, followed by Steelers-Eagles. The Redskins try to bounce back against the Giants on Fox. NBC brings the Cowboys and Bears Sunday night, with Falcons-Saints Sunday on ESPN.
The college football weekend continues Friday as TCU takes on SMU Friday at 8 p.m. on ESPN and it's Utah-Southern Cal on FoxSports1 at 9 p.m.
The ACC network has Virginia Tech's game with East Carolina Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
ABC starts Saturday with Florida State-South Florida at noon, followed by Michigan hosting Penn State. In primetime, Stanford takes on UCLA.
Tennessee faces Florida on CBS at 3:30 p.m.
It's Duke-Notre Dame on NBC at 3:30 p.m. and Fox offers Baylor-Oklahoma State at 7:30 p.m.
Georgia takes on Mississippi on ESPN at noon. Auburn battles LSU at 6 p.m. and Texas A&M tangles with Arkansas at 9 p.m.
ESPN2 has Iowa-Rutgers at noon, then West Virginia hosts BYU. Arizona State meets California at 10 p.m.
Oregon State meets Boise State on FoxSports1 at 3:30 p.m.
Virginia tries to get its first win against Central Michigan at noon on Comcast. William & Mary hosts Elon at 7 p.m.
Iowa State takes on San Jose State at noon on MASN2.
NASCAR heads to New Hampshire, with the Sprint Cup race Sunday at 2 p.m. on NBC Sports network. The Xfinity race goes Saturday at 8 p.m. on NBC Sports network, with the Truck Series on FoxSports1 Saturday at 1 p.m.
The PGA tour's top 30 golfers meet in the Tour Championship on NBC Saturday at noon and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
Manchester United faces Leicester City Saturday at 7:25 a.m. on NBC Sports network, followed by Liverpool-Hull City and Arsenal against Chelsea. West Ham United battles Southampton Sunday at 10:55 a.m.
The Galaxy take on Seattle Sunday at 4 p.m. on ESPN and FoxSports1 brings New England's clash with Columbus at 7 p.m.
Seattle meets Houston in women's soccer Sunday at 9:30 p.m. on FoxSports1.
Comcast has Army-Navy in college soccer Friday at 7 p.m.
Chicago hosts a second round WNBA playoff game Sunday at 1 p.m. on ESPN2.
