Soccer in the twilight

On hot days, the best time for the kids to play outside is as the sun goes down.
Tonight, the youngest got the urge to visit the playground around 8 p.m. (hearing his friend was going there helped).
We went to Teaverton park, then he joined a soccer game with 10 other kids from the neighborhood. Brothers and sisters, all elementary school age, playing together while a parent walked or chatted together.
The nearly full moon wasn't bright enough to continue play. Doesn't mean they didn't want to continue.
But there will be other days to play together as summer vacation rolls on.
