Weekend watchdog

The last time CBS did not air the NCAA championship game, Virginia played LSU in the third-place game - hours after the assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan.
CBS hands the reins to TBS for the Final Four semifinals Saturday and Monday's championship game at 9 p.m. The network has carried every final since 1982, after the NBC team of Dick Enberg, Billy Packer and Al McGuire watched Indiana win in 1981.
 Saturday's action begins at 6 p.m., with Villanova facing Oklahoma. Both teams ousted top seeds in the regional finals.
North Carolina, the lone top seed to advance to Houston and 1981 runner-up, plays Syracuse at 8:49 p.m. The coaches in this matchup have already cut down the nets, with Jim Boeheim winning in 2003 in Roy Williams' final game before moving to North Carolina.
Saturday's winners advance to Monday's final, with hopes of cutting down the nets and starring in their own shining moment.
The women's Final Four is Sunday, with Connecticut against Oregon State on ESPN at 6 p.m. and Washington-Syracuse on ESPN2 at 8:30 p.m. The final will be Tuesday.
On the high school court, ESPN2 has boys semfinals Friday at 3 and 5 p.m. The boys final is Saturday at noon on ESPN, after the girls championship at 10 a.m.
The Cavaliers visit the Hawks Friday at 8 p.m. on ESPN, followed by Celtics-Warriors.
ABC offers the Thunder and Rockets Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
The Wizards take on the Clippers Sunday at 3:30 p.m. on Comcast.
There's three games Sunday to get the baseball season started. The Cardinals visit Pittsburgh at 1 p.m. on ESPN, then it's Blue Jays-Rays at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN2. The night closes with a rematch of the 2015 World Series as the Royals host the Mets at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN.
The Nationals prepare for the season by facing the Twins Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at noon on MASN.
On the college diamond, Texas tangles with Oklahoma Friday at 8 p.m. on FoxSports1.
In softball, top-ranked Florida faces Alabama on ESPN2 Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Marshall meets Alabama-Birmingham Saturday at 1 p.m. on MASN2, and Kansas takes on Oklahoma Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Capitals visit Colorado Friday at 9 p.m. and Arizona Saturday at 10 p.m. on Comcast.
The Bruins tangle with the Blackhawks Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on NBC, and the Blues face the Avalanche on NBC Sports network Sunday at 8 p.m.
NBC has the PGA tour event in Houston Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m.
NASCAR visits Martinsville this weekend, with the Sprint Cup race Sunday at 1 p.m. on FoxSports1. The truck series goes Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on FoxSports1.
The IndyCar circuit heads to Phoenix, with coverage on NBC Sports network Saturday at 8:30 p.m. There's qualifying Friday at 5 p.m. after practice at 1 p.m.
NBC Sports network has the Bahrain Grand Prix Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Aston Villa meets Chelsea on NBC Sports network Saturday at 7:40 a.m., followed by Arsenal-Watford. Leicester City faces Southampton Sunday at 8:25 a.m. It's Liverpool against Tottenham on NBC Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
Portland plays Orlando City on FoxSports1 Sunday at 8 p.m.
In college lacrosse, Virginia takes on Richmond Saturday at 1 p.m. on Comcast.
ESPN2 has men's semifinals from the Miami Open Friday at 1 and 7 p.m. It's the women's championship Saturday at 1 p.m on ESPN.
NBC Sports network has the World Figure Skating championships Friday at 3 and 9 p.m. and at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. NBC has coverage Saturday at 9 p.m.
