A player in the Milwaukee Brewers farm system has announced he is gay.
Whatever his status, it's doubtful he'll be a major leaguer.
He's in his third season with the Brewers.
He's back in a short-season team in Montana after some time in the Class A Midwest League.
Helena is a team for first or second year players. Someone dropping down to that level for a third season has a small chance of advancing.
Forty or fifty new prospects join the organization each year.
They may be younger, or have more potential.
The guy will be better known than most short-season players this year.
But it's doubtful he'll be in organized baseball much longer.
