Does he know the third verse?

There's an interesting defense of Colin Kaepernick bubbling up - the third stanza is racist.
The anthem was written a few weeks after a group of freed slaves joined the British in beating the American army around Washington.
Thus, the third stanza discusses the triumph of American soldiers over those freed slaves.
Nice thought.
Does Kaepernick know that's in the anthem?
Doubtful.
Digging up racism in the life of Francis Scott Key may make you feel better, but it really has nothing to do with Kaepernick.
Or the reaction.
