Let's make a border deal
Scott Adams lists reasons to be against illegal immigrants and ways to make a deal around them.
My point is that there is probably a “deal” to be made that satisfies the pro-deportation folks who are not racists. If you want legal justice, and you don’t want outsiders taking your resources, we can probably fix most of that with an intelligent deal.
If Trump asks Americans for suggestions on how to handle deportation humanely, he wins. A big part of the problem is that citizens don’t believe politicians are hearing them on this issue. Trump is listening. If he solicits suggestions, you have half of what you wanted – attention and priority.

The 49ers close their preseason in San Diego Thursday.
A very-pro military town due to the naval presence.
How will they greet Colin Kaepernick?
I doubt they'll boo during the anthem if he sits.
Will he play?
Starters usually don't play the final preseason game, but he needs game action if he wants to show he can start this season.
Plenty of boos are likely if he hits the field.
And cheers when the Chargers' defense makes him hit the field.

Does Kaepernick help Trump?
We're now in the second day of discussions about Colin Kaepernick sitting during the National Anthem.
Does he have the right?
Yes.
Was it the right place?
No.
Was it the right way?
No.
People who love the country have the right to be offended.
Not lectured about problems of the country that the media wants us to focus upon.
The media quickly jumped to claim only Donald Trump fans were upset.

Hillary Clinton gave a speech Thursday trying to tie Donald Trump to the conspiracies of the alt-right side of the internet.
Did she succeed?

Trump has built his brand around the idea that he will protect legal American citizens of all types – who he loves – against bad people in other countries. Trump is saying he’s on Team America. Period.
But Clinton just insulted 40% of American voters by calling them racists. Clinton literally – and publicly – turned on her own citizens.
Trump, by contrast, has attacked only professionals who are in the cage fight against him, including politicians on both sides, and the media.

Best case scenario
Victor Davis Hanson lists the reasons a Donald Trump presidency will be better than one with Hillary Clinton.
Mysteriously, each time he hits rock bottom, Trump — even before his recent “pivot” — begins a two-week chrysalis cycle of inching back in the polls to within 2 or 3 points of Clinton. Apparently Trump represents something well beyond Trump per se. He appears to be a vessel of, rather than a catalyst for, popular furor at “elites” — not so much the rich, but the media/political/academic/celebrity global establishment that derides the ethos of the middle class as backward and regressive, mostly as a means for enjoying their own apartheid status and sense of
exalted moral self, without guilt over their generational influence and privilege.

The comparisons about the presidential responses to Louisiana flooding miss an important point.
In 2005, the national media descended on New Orleans before the storm hit.
They were stuck there in the mess.
In the current flooding, nobody was on site prior to the event except the locals.
Brian Williams and Shep Smith will make a big deal about a situation when they are experiencing it.
That drives the news, not the newsworthiness of the event.
There's always flooding out there somewhere.

The Progressives at DFA want people to watch a movie "The Brainwashing of My Dad" in their pursuit to get more liberals elected.

Lack of respect for your elders and their experiences.
Instead, they try to blame conservative talk radio for changing their dad's mind.
Do they have so little respect for their dad's intelligence that he could be brainwashed?
Just because he doesn't agree with you doesn't make him brainwashed.
My mother hated Rush Limbaugh for years, and now she's a big fan. She hasn't been brainwashed - she's seen bad things over the years that eroded her support of the traditional Democratic party.
I wonder if a pollster asked people about their experiences with their dads and the candidates.
I'd bet people who have a good relationship with their fathers would prefer Donald Trump more than those with a negative or neutral relationship.
If you trust your dad and his years of knowledge from the game of life, you'll trust a man from his generation - likely with his temperament - to run the country.

Do they give money for nothing?
The New York Times looks at the problem with the Clinton Foundation - no matter what they do in the future.
Some emails and other records described donors seeking and in some cases obtaining meetings with State Department officials. None showed Mrs. Clinton making decisions in favor of any contributors, but her allies fear that additional emails might come out and provide more fodder for Mr. Trump.
The Clintons found nice people who only give to help others.

Fortunately, faith-based news organizations have chronicled what the athletes themselves consider their most important characteristic: their belief in God.

Our political system
The political class hates Trump because he doesn't act like them.
He tries, but then he reverts to his self and blows up the media.
The media like things as they are, with them providing the access to the political class and maintaining their importance.
But what has the political class given us?
Debt over $19 trillion.
Looming problems not being discussed while minor issues become major woes.
The system is rigged to their styles.
They can climb the political tree better than anyone.
But the times call for something different.
Trump is a genius in his business and reality TV world.
He's trying to help our country with his knowledge from those spheres.

Do Democrats have the right temperament?

Two people died Saturday when a wall of water roared down Main Street in Ellicott City, Maryland.
And the global warming people have come out.
But let's look at the reasons why Ellicott City might have seen climate change.
Sixty years ago, the countryside around Ellicott City was mostly farms.
There was only one high school in the county that now hosts 12.
And multiple schools with trailers outside.
Why?
Big government in Washington.
The more people government employs, the more housing that must be built on former farmland and forests.
More housing, more roads, more blacktop for driveways.
If those things increase the temperature and cause bigger storms, then that's the reason for the unusually heavy storm.
Government needs to look at how it's huge footprint around Washington D.C. impacts the climate there.
And the global warming people have come out.
