We changed the norms, now you must keep them

Andy Schmookler takes an interesting tact - attacking Donald Trump for being outside the current norms.
And wondering why conservatives are not defending norms like they used to?
Maybe it's because the norms have changed.
And conserving norms means not conserving the norms Schmookler wants conserved.
The media should help the citizenry to think through: Is this a norm that should be swept aside, because it gets in the way of our doing the nation’s business at it needs to be done? Or is this a norm that serves the nation well?
We'll see lots of reviewing norms in the next few years. If Schmookler's norms don't serve the nation well, they will be swept aside.
