Weekend watchdog

It's not fantasy - the new NFL season has begun.
After Thursday's season opener, the campaign gets going Sunday as Fox has the first doubleheader of the season - the Redskins hosting the Eagles at 1 p.m. before the Seahawks tangle with the Packers.
CBS offers Ravens-Bengals at 1 p.m.
NBC begins its Sunday night coverage with Giants at Cowboys.
 ESPN has its season-opening twinbill on Monday night, with the Saints taking on Vikings at 7 p.m. followed by Chargers meeting the Broncos.
The college football weekend begins Friday when Oklahoma State takes on South Alabama on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. Ohio meets Purdue on FoxSports1 at 8 p.m.
Saturday's action on ABC starts at noon with Cincinnati-Michigan. Penn State battles with Pittsburgh at 3:30 p.m., with Ohio State hosting Oklahoma in a top-10 contest at 7:30 p.m.
Notre Dame hosts Georgia on NBC at 7:30 p.m.
CBS starts its SEC coverage with Arkansas taking on TCU at 3:30 p.m.
Nebraska heads to Oregon on Fox at 4:30 p.m., followed by Stanford-USC at 8:30 p.m.
ESPN begins its day at noon when Louisville visits North Carolina. In primetime, Auburn clashes with Clemson at 7 p.m. before Boise State meets Washington State.
Iowa and Iowa State tangle on ESPN2 at noon, then top-ranked Alabama takes on Fresno State. It's South Carolina-Missouri at 7 p.m. with Utah's contest with BYU at 10:15 p.m.
Oregon State hosts Minnesota at 10 p.m. on FoxSports1.
Georgia Tech tangles with Jacksonsville State on Comcast at 12:30 p.m.
MASN2 has three contests Saturday, starting at noon with Charlotte's clash with Kansas State. It's Central Michigan against Kansas at 4 p.m. and Baylor battles Texas-San Antonio at 8 p.m.
The Orioles take on the Indians Friday on MASN, moving to Fox Saturday and ESPN Sunday night.
The Nationals host the Phillies for the weekend, with games on MASN2 Friday and moving back to MASN Saturday and Sunday.
Fox also shows Yankees-Rangers Saturday at 1 p.m., while TBS brings Dodgers against Rockies Sunday at 4 p.m.
NASCAR finalizes its Monster Cup playoff field at Richmond Saturday on NBC Sports network at 7:30 p.m. The Xfinity Series goes Friday at 7:30 p.m.
ESPN has the finals of the U.S. Open, with the women taking the court Saturday at 4 p.m. and the men Sunday at 4 p.m. along with the women's double title match Sunday at 1 p.m. on ESPN2.
There's men's semifinals Friday at 4 p.m. on ESPN, after doubles at noon on ESPN2.
Comcast has ACC soccer between Virginia Tech and Duke Friday at 7 p.m.
Manchester City meets Liverpool Saturday at 7:25 a.m. on NBC Sports network, then it's Arsenal-Bournemouth. Burnley battles Crystal Palace Sunday at 8:25 a.m. and Swansea City tangles with Newcastle United at 10:55 a.m.
In the Bundesliga, Freiburg faces Dortmund Saturday at 9:30 a.m. on FoxSports1.
Columbus clashes with Sporting Kansas City Sunday at 1 p.m. on ESPN.
There's a pair of WNBA playoff games on ESPN2 Sunday at 3 and 5 p.m.
