Weekend watchdog

Sixteen drivers have a shot at the NASCAR Monster Series Cup championship.
One is going for title number eight.
Jimmie Johnson and the rest of the playoff contenders hit the track at Chicagoland Sunday at 3 p.m. on NBC Sports network.
Johnson won his seventh championship last year, joining Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Sr. with that number. He opens the playoff season in fifth place after winning three times during the first 26 races.
The Xfinity Series goes Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on NBC Sports network and FoxSports1 has the Truck Series Friday at 8:30 p.m.
The Orioles have a series with the Yankees on MASN. The Nationals host the Dodgers for the weekend. There's coverage on MASN2 Friday, moving to Fox Saturday afternoon and ESPN Sunday night.
Fox also offers Mariners-Astros Saturday, and the Royals visit the Indians on FoxSports1 at 4 p.m.
The Ravens battle the Browns on CBS Sunday at 1 p.m., and Fox brings two contests - the Eagles facing the Chiefs at 1 p.m. and Redskins against Rams at 4:25 p.m. The Falcons open their new stadium against the Packers on NBC Sunday night, with the Lions taking on the Giants on ESPN Monday night.
The college football weekend continues Friday when Illinois visits South Florida at 7 p.m. on ESPN followed by Arizona-UTEP.
UCLA travels to Memphis Saturday at noon on ABC, then BYU meets Wisconsin. In primetime, Louisville hosts Clemson.
Florida faces Tennessee on CBS at 3:30 p.m.
Fox offers Army-Ohio State at 4:30 p.m. followed by Texas-USC.
ESPN starts its day at noon with Oklahoma State's visit to Pittsburgh. Notre Dame goes against Boston College at 3:30 p.m., then Mississippi State meets LSU at 7 p.m. Mississippi takes on California at 10:30 p.m.
Virginia clashes with Connecticut on ESPN2 at noon, followed by North Texas-Iowa. Top-ranked Alabama takes on Colorado State at 7 p.m. and its San Jose State against Utah in the nightcap.
Nebraska battles Northern Illinois at noon on FoxSports1.
Duke takes on Baylor on Comcast at 12:30 p.m.
The PGA tour's playoff field will reach 30 after this weekend's tournament on NBC Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Bournemouth battles Brighton & Hove Albion Friday at 3 p.m. on NBC Sports network. Crystal Palace clashes with Southampton Saturday at 7:25 a.m. Manchester United meets Everton Sunday at 10:55 a.m.
In the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich meets Mainz 05 Saturday at 9:30 a.m. on FoxSports1.
Comcast brings ACC soccer between Boston College and Clemson Friday at 7 p.m.
NBC Sports network has the Singapore Grand Prix Sunday at 7:30 a.m. and there's practice Friday at 8:30 a.m.
The IndyCar circuit visits Sonoma Sunday at 6:30 p.m. on NBC Sports network, with practice Friday at 5 p.m.
