Weekend watchdog

The 21st century hasn't been kind to the United States Ryder Cup teams.
With just one victory in the biennial contests since 1999, the United States will try to break through on home turf this weekend.
NBC gets the play going Saturday at 9 a.m., with the final day's matches at noon Sunday.
The Orioles close out the regular season against the Yankees on MASN, while the NL East Division champion Nationals gear up for the postseason against the Marlins on MASN2.
The Blue Jays and Red Sox play Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 and Sunday at 3 p.m. on TBS. Fox has Mets-Phillies and Pirates against the Cardinals Saturday at 1 p.m. FoxSports1 has the Royals taking on the Indians at 4:15 p.m.
Sunday NFL play starts early this week, with the Colts facing the Jaguars in London at 9:30 a.m. on CBS. Redskins host the Browns at 1 p.m. on CBS, and Fox brings Cowboys-49ers in the late afternoon slot. The Steelers host the Chiefs on NBC at 8:20, with Giants-Vikings on ESPN Monday night.
The college football weekend continues Friday with a top 10 battle in the Pac-12 Friday as Stanford meets Washington at 9 p.m. on ESPN. Toledo takes on BYU at 10:15 p.m. on ESPN2.
Virginia opens conference play against Duke on the ACC network Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
Texas takes on Oklahoma State on ABC at noon, followed by Michigan-Wisconsin at 3:30 p.m. Primetime brings the big matchup between Louisville and Clemson.
CBS brings Tennessee-Georgia at 3:30 p.m.
TCU meets Oklahoma on Fox at 5 p.m., then it's Southern Cal-Arizona State at 8:30 p.m.
The day starts for ESPN at noon with Notre Dame's contest with Syracuse at the Meadowlands and it's Florida State-North Carolina at 3:30 p.m. Top-ranked Alabama takes on Kentucky at 7 p.m. before UCLA meets Arizona.
Miami meets Georgia Tech on ESPN2 at noon and Illinois faces Nebraska at 3:30 p.m. Boise State battles Utah State at 10:15 p.m.
Baylor battles Iowa State at noon on FoxSports1.
Comcast offers Georgia State against Appalachian State at noon, followed by Towson-Richmond.
NASCAR's chase for the Cup visits Dover Sunday at 2 p.m. on NBC Sports network. The Xfinity Series goes Saturday at 3 p.m. while the Truck Series will be on FoxSports1 at 8:30 p.m.
NBC Sports network has the Malaysian Grand Prix Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Capitals prepare for the season with a contest against the Islanders Saturday at 7 p.m. on Comcast
Manchester United takes on Stoke City at 6 a.m. Sunday on NBC Sports network, followed by Tottenham Hotspur against Manchester City and Burnley-Arsenal at 11 a.m.
