Say you're a Democrat who received Trump's money in the past.
If you come out forcefully against him, are you a hypocrite?
Why should people donate to you if you might attack them in the future? After you cashed the check?
Presidents usually need a team throughout government to help get their agenda passed.
Trump's past donations give him a bi-partisan team.
Do they want to keep the money following?
