Don't know much about history

Karl Rove's weekly column looks at the numbers from past mid-term elections for encouraging signs for Republicans. Big historic gains for the out party since World War II or 1966 sound good, but our current style of redistricting remove much volatility from the electorate. If a new president brings in fewer members with his coattails, then fewer weak members are there to be easily swept out.
