Weekend watchdog

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook worked well together on the court for years.

The dunks and long-distance shooting take center stage with All-Star Saturday night starting at 8 p.m. TNT has the Rising Stars Challenge Friday at 9 p.m. after ESPN offers the Celebrity Game Friday at 7 p.m.
NASCAR gathers at Daytona to get ready to open the season. Qualifying for the Daytona 500 will be Sunday at 3:15 p.m. on Fox, after the Clash at Daytona Saturday at 8 p.m. on FoxSports1.
There's practices for the races Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 11:30 a.m. on FoxSports1.
Valparaiso tangles with Oakland on ESPN2 Friday at 7 p.m. before VCU meets Richmond.
FoxSports1 has California-Stanford at 10 p.m.
ESPN's GameDay catches Virginia's contest with North Carolina Saturday at 8:15 p.m. The day begins at noon with Notre Dame against North Carolina State, followed by Florida-Mississippi State. Michigan State meets Purdue at 4 p.m. before Kentucky battles Georgia.
Northern Iowa meets Wichita State on ESPN2 at noon, then it's West Virginia taking on Texas Tech. Florida State faces Pittsburgh at 4 p.m. before SMU meets Houston and Arizona tangles with Washington. St. Mary's and BYU close out the night at 10 p.m.
Kansas battles Baylor on CBS Saturday at 1 p.m.
The ACC network offers Virginia Tech-Louisville Saturday at 1 p.m. along with Duke against Wake Forest.
Villanova takes on Seton Hall Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on Fox, then it's Colorado-Oregon at 3 p.m.
NBC Sports network has three contests from the Atlantic 10 Saturday, starting with Davidson-Massachusetts at noon. Dayton duels with St. Bonaventure before Rhode Island faces George Mason at 4 p.m.
Towson takes on James Madison Saturday at 7 p.m. on Comcast.
MASN offers Tennessee-Martin against Southeast Missouri State Saturday at noon.
George Washington meets Duquesne Sunday at noon on NBC Sports network.
CBS has Maryland-Wisconsin Sunday at 1 p.m.
Butler battles DePaul on FoxSports1 Sunday at 1:30 p.m. before Georgetown clashes with Creighton.
Connecticut clashes with Temple Sunday at 4 p.m. on ESPN.
On the women's court, Butler battles Georgetown Friday at 7 p.m. on MASN2.
Texas takes on Oklahoma Saturday at 2 p.m. then it's Kansas State-TCU on MASN2.
Dayton faces Fordham on NBC Sports network Sunday at 2 p.m.
ESPN2 has three contests Sunday, starting with Temple-South Florida at 1 p.m. South Carolina takes on Missouri at 3 p.m. followed by Notre Dame against Syracuse.
The Capitals take on the Red Wings Saturday at 2 p.m. on Comcast before starting NBC's Hockey Day in America with a contest against the Rangers at 12:30 p.m. The Red Wings face Penguins at 3 p.m.
NBC Sports network has a pair of games Sunday night, with Blackhawks-Sabres at 6 p.m. followed by the Bruins against the Sharks.
On the college ice, New Hampshire takes on Boston University Friday at 6 p.m. on MASN followed by Colgate-Clarkson.
Notre Dame hosts Providence on NBC Sports network Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m.
CBS has the Genesis Open Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m.
NBC Sports network has men's giant slalom skiing Friday at 6:30 a.m., with the slalom Sunday at 6:30 a.m.
There's rugby on NBC Sports network Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m.
