The Richmonder highlights a long article on Daily Kos about our current economic troubles. Read through and there's some of the same points Glenn Beck makes on his show daily.
Get to the end and there's hope - at least he thinks it's hope for progressive electoral wins instead of losses.
Reality will force that to happen if these truths are at the forefront of the news cycle in coming weeks and months, too. That effort, combined with a constant, ongoing reminder that it was eight years of Republican, laissez-faire mismanagement of our nation's economy that has brought us to the position we're in, now, should be more than sufficient to see us through both the mid-terms next year and the 2012 national elections, as well.
It worked for FDR in 1936, when this country was in the midst of the worst economic downturn in its history.
Sure, all the problems are from Republicans and all the solutions from Democrats/progressives. A government whose weaknesses led to our economic troubles will be strong enough to pull us out.
Good luck with that.

Actually, for the record, while I found the economic stuff to be gloomily accurate, I didn't really buy the rah-rah-rah finish.
The point I was trying to get across, and I admit to being a bit lazy in posting just a link without any explanatory comment, was that our economy is far worse than we are being led to believe.
