I didn't realize Rasmussen Reports had a new poll out until Chris Graham at Augusta Free Press noted it.
It's 51-42 McDonnell with leaners counted, up from 49-41 last month.
Graham also notes Public Policy Polling's poll released Tuesday. He mentions Rasmussen as "Republican-leaning" but not PPP as "Democratic-leaning."
To me, the political lean of a company means a lot less now in the internet era. You can look into their internals and sometimes see results that don't match what they trumpet.
Besides, pollsters make money when they are accurate. If your numbers are too far out of the mainstream (cough, Newsweek, cough), you become the laughing stock.
So average the two polls and McDonnell leads by eight. That's down from 11 if you combine their August polls, but not too bad overall.
