I worked for just over three years in South Carolina, leaving just before the 1988 primaries.
So I missed the fun of those Republican contests.
It's cool to see Rick Perry campaigning a block from our newspaper office, and to see Newt Gingrich holding a town hall at a restaurant where I ate many meals.
Hopefully, the South Carolina Republicans will choose wisely Saturday.
