The Republican tent

Some say that the Republican Party needs to extend its tent, bringing more people in my trimming the divisive parts of the platform.
I think the next two elections, the Republican tent will resemble a Red Cross tent outside of a disaster area. All those hurt by President Obama's policies will come looking for healing and help.
Those bondholders who lost money when GM and Chrysler bailouts favored union members.
Those asked to pay higher taxes to cover higher debt.
Those who worked hard and saved, but see their investments fading.
The Republicans need to be ready to deliver that aid, and a better vision of where to take the country.
It's smart politics to help your friends. But it's a tough balancing act to get 49.9 percent of the population to fund programs to keep 50.1 percent of the population voting for you.
