More recently, India has adopted more progressive, free-market economic policies, and has turned decisively toward the West. Its alliance with the United States is one of the most positive geopolitical developments of recent years, and it is properly being celebrated by President Trump.

Happy Days are here again

The Annual Report of the Council of Economic Advisers gives President Trump and his supporters good news headed to November 2020.
The vicissitudes of the various campaigns come and go, but the administration’s excellent record on the economy remains the most important factor in the election. To Democrats, the message is: read it and weep.

What reporters saw

Michael Bloomberg had a bad debate Wednesday.
But more people will see his ads than watched the debate.
So will it make a difference in his rise in the polls?
It impacted the pundits.
That will spill out in their commentary the next two weeks.
Bloomberg's ads will have trouble covering the smell of his debate/

Brother to brother

David Limbaugh pens a column about his brother's impact on the country.
He has been the tip of the spear for political conservatism. No one has done more to bring conservatism into the mainstream of American life, and he’s paid a heavy price for it — but he never complains. He has been the left’s favorite target for hate and abuse for decades, opening myriad pathways for thousands of other conservatives to bring their talents and share their message with like-minded Americans.

Frank Burns, season five

MeTV in my area shows M*A*S*H at 7 p.m.
There are running the fifth season currently.
The final season for Frank Burns, where he's even more annoying than before since Hot Lips got engaged.
He was annoying and thoroughly unlikable.
Just like the Democrats running for president in 2020.
Hawkeye and B.J. were constantly cracking jokes - just like President Trump and his supporters now.
Frank Burns' character arc hit its downward spiral.
Just like the Democrats in 2020.

End of the road for Joe

How much longer can Joe Biden hang on?
It's not looking good after a fifth-place finish in New Hampshire.
What happened then to Biden is what’s happening to him now. The more the voters get a look at the actual Joe Biden, and not just his resume, the less they like him. We can focus all we want on policy statements, voting records, etc. But in the end, the voters always choose the most persuasive candidate.

Can't buy me love

Michael Bloomberg ads are everywhere.
Youtube.
National TV
Local TV
Sports.
He's spending more by himself than everybody else.
Will it bring votes, or just turn everybody off?

Behind the debacle

Matt Taibbi tells the tale of Democratic failure in Iowa.
Including a great word picture of the Biden campaign.
Biden performed surprisingly well all year in polls, but he headed into Iowa like a passenger jet trying to land with one burning engine, hitting trees, cows, cars, sides of mountains, everything.

We all have our roles

Powerline features Rush Limbaugh's comments from Friday's radio return.
I remember when I was at the National Review 50th anniversary dinner in Washington — some of you will remember this story — I’m sitting at Mr. Buckley’s table, and a man walks up to me who has been severely wounded in battle. And he asks if I could come over to his table to meet others at his table who also have been wounded. So I did.
I got over there, and I was listening to these guys who have nearly died defending the country, telling me how much they enjoy listening to my program and all that. I said to these guys, “You know… (sigh) I don’t know, guys. You’ve faced bullets, almost died. I sit behind a microphone in an enclosed room and talk.” The leader of the Wounded Warriors said, “Sir, we all have our role,” and I’ve never forgotten that.

We feel good

Powerline highlights a poll showing Americans expect to be doing better financially a year from now.
Sure, a lot can change between now and November. But with 74% of Americans looking forward to being more prosperous a year from now, it is hard to imagine a majority thinking that a radical change in the direction of socialism is a good idea. A huge majority of Americans, whatever they may think of Donald Trump, appear to be invested in the direction the country is moving.

Rush to a quick recovery

Kurt Schlichter joins those wishing Rush Limbaugh well in his battle with lung cancer.
Every once in a while, my phone will go nuts, and I know the great Rush Limbaugh has read one of my Townhall columns on the air again, and no doubt mispronounced my last name!
Rush, you can pronounce “Schlichter” any way you please. If not for you, I probably would not be a columnist, or an author, or an occasional radio host. Thank you.

Rushed recipe falls flat

Jonathan Turley reminds us what he said in November - Democrats needed to follow the process on impeachment.
And they didn't.
The hard truth is that House Democrats lost this case the minute they rushed an impeachment vote, and they knew it. With the approaching Iowa caucuses, they chose a failed impeachment rather than taking a few more months to work on a more complete case against Trump, a case more difficult to summarily dismiss.

Saturday song.

When it comes to impeachment, it's time for Democrats to listen to Johnny Mathis and Deniece Williams.
