Ted Cruz has the lead in the latest Iowa poll.
And will be getting notice headed into Tuesday's debate.
Essentially, he matches Trump tit-for-tat on most every conservative idealogical marker. But unlike Trump, Cruz is utterly and completely devoted to a purist, conservative cause. And his ability to mask zealotry with political rhetoric renders him an exponentially more potent candidate.

The poll is not as big a thing as some may hope.
The DMR has an axe to grind against The Donald and has been known to go after Conservatives. Pumping Cruz to spite Trump is entirely possible, given this is a Bloomberg-commissioned poll and has a MOE of 4.9.
