Headline writers hardest hit

Hail to the Redskins.
Or Skins.
When you're writing a headline for the newspaper, shorter names let you put more action into it.
Or
Give a
chance
to stack
stories
Washington won't fit in one column.
But announcers can say Washington all they want.
It leaves fewer syllables for silly commentary.
