President talks to the schoolkids

President Obama is scheduled to speak to public school students Sept. 8 for the first day of school in many parts of the country. What should he say? He's my suggestion.

Boys and girls, when I was your age, the Democratic party ruled Congress. They had lots of tax money rolling in, and fewer older people to pay benefits for. But did they save money for a day like today when there would be more older people?
No. They wrote IOUs and put them in a drawer.
So, boys and girls, we need you to work hard in school. Because you've got to pay taxes when you grow up. The sooner the better.
You love your grandma and grandpa, right? They need medicines, and we need tax money to pay for them.
I want you to stay away from gangs. Do you know how much a drive-by shooting costs?
You've got to pay emergency room care, police, ambulances and either a funeral or more medical care. That's a lot of money.
I need you to work hard in school. Knuckleheads cost money. There's more police to try and stop them from doing stupid things. And jails cost lots of money.
Your moms and dads would like to retire some day. They work hard and pay taxes. They look forward to the day when you work hard and pay taxes.

Remember, boys and girls
Don't be a fool
Stay in school
Paying taxes is cool
I think I hear the recess bell. Have a good day.

You say, what about Republican tax cuts and military spending? You write your speech; I wrote mine.

I think the concept fundamentally inappropriate.

Of course it's inappropriate. That's why we're whacking at it.
