Thanks President Joe (Manchin)

If you're just getting up to speed now, all year long the Joe in charge of Washington was Manchin.
Today, he said no to Build Back Better.
No, it is.

Central planning doesn't work

Blue Virginia has a collection of tweets from the Fredericksburg Democratic Committee chairwoman.
Too bad they don't read with an open mind.
Democrats would see why their plans will fail based on the failure of the McAuliffe team.
The McAuliffe team pushed a top-down plan, keeping control of their campaign signs and ignoring warning signs that their message wasn't working.
HoD candidates and staff were left out to dry with McAuliffe’s staff keeping their cards so close to their chest that the majority for the time even DPVA was kept in the dark about decisions being made. Team McAuliffe did not coordinate.
Like many of the Democratic policy plans, putting government and its bureaucrats in control.
If something doesn't work, they just keep doing it.
If this management style doesn't work in campaigns, how can it work in the real world?

Oh happy day

What a glorious day in Virginia.
Republicans won the top three spots.
And will have the majority in the House of Delegates.
Democrats are moping.
Complaining.
Frantic about the future under Governor-elect Youngkin.
Losing produces a thousand excuses.

Sweep

Good news from Virginia, with large Republican turnout pushing Glenn Youngkin and his team toward victory.
Quite a way to end a decade-long losing streak.

Limping through year 13

Today is this blog's 13th anniversary.
The 13th year hasn't been great - fewer posts.
The blog world has changed much since I started in 2008.
But we'll keep the lights on.
Especially if Glenn Youngkin pulls out the big win next Tuesday.

Here come those tears again

The Washington Post makes Blue Virginia sad today.
Imagine how sad Democrats will be November 3.

Undefeated teams watch

Five teams have made it through the first three weeks 3-0.
One - the Los Angeles Rams - have their second straight game against an unbeaten opponent when Arizona comes to town on Sunday.
The Panthers, Raiders and Broncos round out the 3-0 crew.
The 1972 Miami Dolphins continue watching.

Undefeated teams watch

With most of week 2 done, there are seven teams with 2-0 records.
Two of them will meet next Sunday, with Tom Brady and the Bucs taking on the Rams.
The 1972 Miami Dolphins will be watching, just like they have for years.

Left on the Kabul tarmac

What else has been left in Kabul?
The Democratic agenda.
Can they push through gun control?
Not with the Taliban executing their enemies throughout the country - on social media.
More spending?
After all the spending in Afghanistan went for nought?
Green New Deal?
With likely more turmoil in the Middle East, we'll need tried and true energy sources over hopeful ones.
Anything Biden wants?
Will anybody trust him now.
The Biden administration is going down the drain, and the Democrats with it.
Time for patriots to rise up and keep the country from following them.

Muzzled

Nice to see the woman who claimed a dog muzzle was sent to her exposed - she actually bought it with her own Amazon account.

Rowe, Rowe, Rowe your boat

Mike Rowe had a post about vaccinations.
The Bulwark took a swipe at Rowe.
Rowe smacked them back.
Along with “despicable dishonesty and breathtaking stupidity,” I’d like to offer a few additional options for you readers to consider. How about, “a refreshingly honest take on a controversial issue,” or “a thoughtful series of observations wrapped in a patina of common sense,” or maybe, “a brilliant blending of facts and inconvenient truths that leave the skeptical reader with much to consider.”
That Towson State education shines through.

Vice President Kamala Agnew

I like seeing the stories about Kamala Harris' popularity is lowest among vice presidents in 50 years.
Without naming who was vice president in 1971.
Spiro Agnew.
Guess they don't want to be a nattering nabobs of negativism.

Failed ways to get people vaccinated

I got my Trump coronavirus shot six months ago.
I'm fine.
Many people haven't gotten their shots yet, and it's driving people crazy.
But after years of trashing Donald Trump, the establishment doesn't understand why people don't trust them.
Too late.
They've tried slogans.
But I haven't seen these.
  1. Get your shots so you're safe when the Biden administration ships unvaccinated illegal immigrants to your area.
  2. It won't be fun battling the zombies created by the shot.
  3. President Biden got vaccine and look at him.
It's likely the virus will be a low-level threat for years.
There's time for the vaccine to be proven more effective.
We can reopen the world while the healthy use their natural abilities to fight off whatever virus comes there way.

It's all the rage

Don Surber highlights stories of Americans who worked hard and provided for their families.
Which some confusingly call "white rage."

We like our grandparents

All the fuss about Critical Race Theory overlooks an important fact - many people like their ancestors.
They raised us.
They provided for our families through hard times.
We grew up wanting to be like them.
It's hard to think of them as being the people Critical Race Theorists see - those who oppressed others and built their success by knocking others down.
You don't want to feel bad about yourselves.
Or your family.
Critical Race Theory gives you no choice - feel bad about your success.

Donald Trump plans to visit the Texas/Mexico border.
Your move, Biden administration.

If she could turn back time

Would Cher fix this tweet if she could?
Guess she'd rather hang out with the gypsies, tramps and thieves (Democrats).

Are we not men? We are Tebow

Got your Tim Tebow #85 Jacksonsville jersey.
If not, fine
Just as long as you don't root against him.
But my point is this: Why isn’t EVERYBODY cheering for Tebow to pull off one the unlikeliest comeback stories in sports history? Instead, it seems, all we’re hearing are the Legions of the Miserable on social media spewing vile vitriol toward Tebow simply because he is getting another chance to play in the NFL.

Joe knows

Joe Rogan knows being active and healthy.
He doesn't think healthy 21-year-old need to rush out and get the Covid vaccine.
“But if you’re like 21 years old, and you say to me, ‘Should I get vaccinated?’ I’ll go, ‘No.’ Are you healthy? Are you a healthy person? Like, look, don’t do anything stupid, but you should take care of yourself. You should — if you’re a healthy person, and you’re exercising all the time, and you’re young, and you’re eating well, like, I don’t think you need to worry about this."

Not a Jewell

He's can be the youngest member of the Michigan House and the most reckless.
Speeding for miles, then hassles the police.
During the tussle, Jewell allegedly warned troopers that their actions are "not going to be good for you," according to a state police report. "I run y'all budget, bro."
When troopers threatened to hit Jones, he allegedly told them, "if you strike me, it's going to be bad for you" and "I'll call Governor Whitmer right now," the incident report said.

Where we need gun control

When thinking up new rules about gun control, do Democrats go to the source - inner-city gangs?
Don't think these guys will be willing to follow any new rules Democrats propose.
How does a system that continuously releases known gang members and other repeat offenders back into their communities—despite long arrest records and serious criminal convictions involving firearms and violent crimes—improve the prospects of children in Chicago’s South and West Side neighborhoods, such as Austin, West Garfield Park, Englewood, and Humboldt Park? It doesn’t.
Here's the system that needs reform first.

Althouse remains alive on blogspot while numerous others - like me - have greatly slowed their output on the forum.
Last week, she decided to take down comments - after a stretch where she allowed ads with the idea that any bad comments would get caught.
I've enjoyed checking out her commenters in the past, but our world has gotten too grumpy. No comment can stand to the troll army.
Long may her blog fly with a bit of control.
