I think the Republican nominee - whoever it is - will win in 2012. Likely taking 40 states to just 10 states for Obama.
The strong reaction against Gingrich has been good.
In this political climate, Washington is out and the rest of the country is in.
Gingrich is too much Washington. So he's basically out before the rest of the field is in.

If the GOP gets the House, Senate and White House in 2012, we have to be fair and honest during the debate to get public buy in. It’s called leadership. What we don’t have to do is get buy in for a specific plan during the ‘12 campaign because no specific plan ever survives the legislative process. We don’t have referenda on policy plans or bills at the national level in this country. What we do is elect representatives to hash that all out later. Why waste political capital on something that would go in the trash on Day One of Congress?

Spend, spend, the world's going to end
I guess the administration believes the guy who says the world will end Saturday.
Let's start spending the money set aside for federal pensions. Sure, we'll pay it back in the future.

It's sad to see the flooding in Louisiana.
So many people being harmed, due to the relentlessly rising Mississippi River.
And it's not the fault of people of Louisiana. The floodwaters have come from the upper Midwest, and we've seen the problem coming for weeks.
The decision was made - flood the swamp below the Morganza spillway instead of risking havoc in the populated areas of Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
Rep. Paul Ryan is giving another budget speech Monday.
There's a relentless flood coming - entitlement spending that threatens to swamp the United States economy.
Ryan has a plan to spare the vulnerable - current seniors - but it means changes to younger voters.
It's easy to find people who will be hurt under Ryan's plan. But there's no "Louisiana 1927" song to show the perils of ignoring the flood his plan attempts to deal with.
In the past, the government built the Morganza spillway. It had a backup plan for another massive flood on the Mississippi.

The Celtics lost to Miami Wednesday, watching the Heat score the final 16 points of the game. The old guard is out the rest of the way.
In the last second-round series, Memphis hosts Game 6 of its series with Oklahoma City Friday at 9 p.m. on ESPN. They'll play Sunday at 3:30 p.m. if necessary.
The Eastern Conference finals start Sunday at 8 p.m. on TNT, as Miami visits Chicago.
The top two seeds in the NHL's Eastern Conference have been ousted, leaving Boston and Tampa Bay to battle for a Stanley Cup Final berth. They start their series Saturday at 8 p.m. on Versus.
Out west, Vancouver hosts San Jose Game 1 Sunday at 8 p.m. on Versus.

Cuts for debt-ceiling increase
Let's go to the big battle - Speaker John Boehner links the raise in the debt-ceiling to the same amount of budget cuts.
Hey, Obama, you want to buy a debt ceiling increase of, say, $2 trillion that would take you past the next election? Fine, the going price is two trillion dollars in real spending cuts. Cannot afford that and hold your spending coaliton in place? Fine, you can buy a month of debt-ceiling relief, worth about $125 billion, for the reduced price of $125 billion in spending cuts. The price of the debt-ceiling hike is the the same amount — or more — of real spending cuts.
Let's see how President Obama deals with this situation.

Where's the crowd of family, friends and well-wishers? Staging isn't everything, but the staging could be much better here.
Best of luck to Kleiner, but it looks the hopeful college graduate will be graduating to a big loss in November.
